I never received a letter, so I rang Subaru Australia and told them that I found out about the recall via an internet article. The guy over east said if they need to change the pipe or add a support bracket it will be a full day job.

I booked mine in for December 18 at Osborne Park. The girl on the phone had no idea what I was on about, so let's hope their service department gets clued up within the next 4 weeks.

Apparently they have been fixing this in the factory for a while so if you car is fairly new (2-3 months) you may not need it.

I got the recall letter for my MY08 WRX last Friday.

I phoned Subaru OP yesterday and the guy said they should be getting in the brackets on Friday.

I asked if anything needed to be removed during the process:
- Inspection of pipe - No
- Installation of bracket - hmmmm No (don't think he was too sure though)
- Replace the turbo oil pipe (if found to be installed incorrectly) - Yes (he mentioned intercooler).

Not booked mine in yet..............

Just got back from holidays to find the recall letter on my desk.
I have it booked in for tomorrow.
Last thing I need is it catching fire in my driveway.
