Default V6 STI vs WRX

Okey dokey...

What are the differences between the V6 STI and the WRX besides
the obvious cosmetic stuff. I am looking for details on mechanics
like gearbox, turbo, suspension etc... ?

Further to that, what are the mechanical differences between the
V5 and the V6 (apart from the obvious 2 door thing) ?

different gear ratios (4th & 5th both ovedrives)
Improved synchro's
heat treated gears (apparently!)
8 bolt g/box casing
Alloy lower front control arms
alloy bonnet
larger tmic
Different heads
Revised cam timing (V5)
Teflon coated piston skirts (V5)
Ceramic coated piston crowns (V5)
Forged pistons (V6)
Different inlet manifold
Different AFM

Different ecu (mapping)
Different spring rate
Different shocks
different drive shafts (front same as GD)

V5 - V6 essentially the same when stock.

I thought the intercooler was exactly the same as the WRX except for colour.

Does the different turbo have significant lag over the WRX ?

all 97+ gc8 sti were 4.444 for aus/uk/jdm
prior to this, there was mix of 4.11 on the v2 ra and 3.9's on the non-ra's
