I wouldnt get too excited, I just called BP on 1300 139 700 spoke with a Graham, and he said that they will not start sending the fuel out until next week. Looks like my car gets its first tank of Vortex today.
What has everybody been doing here? Vortex/Premium and a bottle of octane boost or something?

i had to put staight 91 ron in my STI today, bp o'park outta ultimate and premium... i put $10 in and i'm going to stay off boost till it's back in the pumps... they reckon 2 weeks and bp have a website where you can register your mobile number and get SMS's when it's back at the pumps....

I hopefully will have enough ultimate in the tank to hold off until next week but for a standard MY98 Rex apart from exhaust isn't 95 RON fine?

In the manual is just says 95 octane or above is recomended.

you shouldnt have any dramas with 95 RON unless your ecu is tuned to a 98 RON fuel

Only STi's and 03-05 WRX's need 98 ron anything else is fine just on 95 ron unless you have had your car tuned to use a higher octane.

This is off the fuelwatch site...

Update on Premium Fuel Availability

BP has advised that their refinery is now back up and running. They will be supplying premium unleaded petrol and 98 Ron (marketed at BP sites as 'Ultimate') to retail sites as of today. It may take a few days for all sites to be fully stocked, so to be sure fuel is available, you should contact the site first.
