Jap Market Only V7 MY01/02 EJ207 STi had forged pistons (same as Oz 02-05 STi's).

They changed to Hypereutectic pistons for the JDM V8 MY03 STi's both regular and Spec C versions, and this has continued from 2003 onwards.

The EJ207 to get if buying used is the JDM V7 MY01/02 Spec C which has the forged pistons, aggressive cams and big port heads. It also runs a higher compression ratio than the Oz EJ207's for better off boost response.
