Default Dumb question re radio

Ok I have a bugeye STi, so where t.f. is the radio aerial????

It's not on the guards (front or rear), not on A pillar, not on roof, not one of them sticky-thing-around -the-windscreen things...

The reception SUCKS, need to replace it with something decent, wherever it is, anyone else bothered???

My guess would be the rear window . . . I don't really know much about it though.

Someone else with more knowledge than me is bound to answer, but isn't it incorporated into the rear window? Not "sticky" style but ultra thin wiring embedded into the glass or similar?

It's on the rear window up the top.

Do you have shitty reception because you just put in a new deck? If so, try hooking up the power antenna wire.

yeah, it's the top lines in your rear window. Had your car tinted recently?

Ok cheers thought that may be it, last option really!

No it has standard deck and everything, was tinted when I got it so can only assume it was done when new, haven't touched it since I got it anyway.

Reception just crap in spots on freeway, or if you're say at a set of lights then a couple of cars come up next to you (let alone a truck) it goes all crackly til you're moving again and stuff. Will have a look when I get home where the cut line is for the tint if it's two sheets and see if it looks ok. Starting to give me the sh*ts.

Cheers for info.

it only happens if your tint has metal in it, as part of the UV protection. Alot of tinting places gaurantee their tint wont interfere with window mounted antenna's, so maybe look at that option.

If its crackling when you are near another car I would think your system is not shielded or eathed properly? Its picking up interference from things like plug leads and the alternator.
