Default sti vs evo9

not wanting to start a shit fight, just after a few quick opinions, im thinking of getting either an evo 9 or a 05 2ltr sti, i dislike the shape of the new subarus, however as the 2ltr sti is now the older model, how would it fair against an evo 9 performance wise,

sorry for my engrish, tired as hell

i have, and ive driven an 05 sti, and i still cant decide!, one of the things i did notice maybe you guys could help me with, i didnt touch the dccd, but i found the car to be very skitish with those tyres, also not sure if its coz they were cold but there was quite a bit of understeer, i didnt give it much boot but i did throw it into a roundabout and it wasnt quite as sharp as i was expecting? i also found the gear ratios to be reallly close,

im currently driving an r32, and in comparison it has sharper turn in , more midrange and low down,

close ratio g/box.. real close arent they

maybe the camber wasnt set up to well on the sti.. mine was pretty funky from the factory as were a couple of other guys from here..

if dccd is in auto you can put more power on progressively and it seems to hook up a bit better.. feels like it anyway.. manual set on rear is fun for powerslides.. anyone else with any reasons?

evo9 is pretty sick.. just depands on what u like..

mods on both will make them as fast/faster than your skyrine..

If I was in your situation I would definitely get an EVO 9.

I can't speak from first hand experience but pretty much every review says it is a better "performance" car straight out of the box.

My thoughts exactly!

Depends on what you want really. Like thx said, test drive them back to back and see what you prefer.

The EVO IX is so sweet though, i reckon you should get that

Ah... Great article. As always it shows the V8 condom-odore as slow in real
world situations and $15k more to buy. I love laughing at the SS boys
every time I pass them, or fill up at the pump.

Well for $15k more you are kidding yourself coz suburban roads
are nothing like smooth, straight, high-speed drag strips. Also
if a WRX owner wishes to, they can get the fuel efficiency of a 2litre
car. V8's are generally heavier users of fuel. Basically, with very little
up side it is a hard sell at $15k more. I would only buy one for towing.
It's just me opinion.

so ur saying on smooth straight drag strips u get owned?. hahah!!! and so the justification for that is u have to say 'in real life suburban' conditions my car is better? there is nothing wrong with V8s. each to their own. i'm sure they laugh at you too at the fuel bowser thinking you're all that in suburbia. the track and strip is where its at !!!

not bad dan, but i was referring the THE LORD and his abilities as a driver rather than the car itself
