I voted for fozy, but seriously if you want something good I wouldn't go for subaru at all..

VW has got some serious looking SUV's. also you need to have a car that is safe and thrifty.

BTW my mrs will be selling her renault as well in few weeks and we are going to consider VW, Audi (Q5) or Skoda (Liftback).

take them both for a test drive. they both have s star saftey. the tribeca looks are alright, better then previous model. it has dual aircon, rear dvd player, navagation, reverse camera, heated seats and mirrors power seats more luxury then the foz. but foz can be modified to go faster and handle better but why would you, you dont want a loud car or worry about ground clearance or stiff ride. I wouldnt think your misses would be taking the car to the track but with the foz you do have a choice of manual or auto, tribeca is only auto.
you already have 1 hoon car plus tribeca can have up to 7 seats, so if more kids pop up
have you looked at mazda cx-7 or cx-9

or
touareg, my uncle had 1 when he was in america, said it was a really awsome car i think he had a top end model, so lots of power, airbag suspension, the works.

or a porsche, if you have the cash

Forget the Mazdas...petrol guzzlers extraordinaire, both.

Dave, you should PM Sarpia who's on this site... he (ie his wife) previously had a Toureg and recently updated to a Tribeca...I'm sure he would have some useful feedback.

My GF just bought a Forester (hopefully pick it up today)...they are an excellent package too and more spacious than the predecessor...we investigated and test drove a lot of cars in that medium SUV class and the Forester came up trumps as the best all round package.

I'd go the tribecca purely because you have play machine and the foz doesn't have much room compared to the tribecca, saying that though I packed me, the missus and my little girl up in the rs and shot down south for the weekend. Took the stroller/ pram, port-a-cot + our luggage and we all fitted a ok. Was a bit tight but clever packing and it was all sweet.

Haha - I'm driving a new Foz ATM.

Second motor FTL.

I prefer it as Tribeca is ugly, but last engine I was given an outback which I liked better.

Wife also got an outback at xmas when her engine went and she liked it except for parking (I stuck reverse sensors on her Liberty).

I wouldn't go anywhere near Mazda's...

They look awesome from outside but if you have owned a subby, you will hate the interiors. And yeah they are massive fuel guzzlers (so much so, that I was taken back to the dealership by salesman while on cx7 test drive when I mentioned him that "fuel light just came one")

Volvo is also pretty neat choice but be prepared to loose value.

VW Toureg is very good value for money IMO but if you want to get something upper market you can also consider Audi Q5.
