Rexsta, how about you lower your car and tell me how you go haha jokes. I think i'll be doing mine first - will be sure to let you know what the clearance ends up at and how it is to drive around town. The fact is, it will be an inconvenience to some extent having to worry about scraping the lip, ride comfort will be reduced but I think it's still worth it
Like Phizzle said - we gotta stop being sooks!

BN01: good to hear! What springs did you have? Do you know what your clearance was, roughly?

PRODIGY: have you ever scraped on a speed bump / driveway @ 13.5cm?
I'm at 15cm and haven't had any issues there - it's only kerbs that it wouldn't be able to clear but as said above I stay away from them when parking etc.

I haven't ever had a problem with speed bumps just driveways and kerbs occasionally.

I found 100mm too low. Suspension geometry was all stuffed up, so if you go that low also look at roll center kits. I bottomed out on a lot of the bigger speed bumps around town and basically got sick of crab crawling my way around. That and the tightness of driving around some car parks shat me to no end.

Also you will receive massive attention from the police as you are on the legal limit.

depends how you go up and down curbs of the driveway. if you come down on a 45 deg angle where one wheel goes down at a time it is fine however, if you come straight down so that both wheels will be descending at the same time you will find you will scape or maybe lose your lip (its the same for going up)

as for most speed humps you should be ok however, there are alot of speed humps out there these days of different shapes and sizes. I have seen some std height cars struggle to get over some without scraping.

good luck.

I had my MY05 pretty low... and lost it a few times being careless... but you just need to be aware and learn to drive and avoid major bumps and curb's!

I had super lows on my my99 and it was pretty low.... the lowest point was the exhaust which was 80mm from the ground..
only time it scrape was on speed hump, when going straight but if you go side ways...its fine
when having 2 or more pople in the car well it not good at shopping centres.

Just remember anyone who knows anything about Subies will be laughing at your car being so low. That's right, you get zero respect for stuffing up the handling. These cars do not enjoy being dumped, if you think it handles when it's that low you probably already have neons.

I understand that going too low hurts handling but that was never my intention - super lows on GC8's were a big drop, but on GD's they're not. So it's not going to be 'that' low. The reason ground clearance will be around 100mm is due to the front lip.

It'll still probably sit higher than the car in ur avatar as MY06's sit pretty damn high standard.
I'm not getting ultralows or cut springs.

BTW: What's wrong with neons?
