Default Tow bar places

Hi guys, how hard is it to fit a towbar to a wrx wagon? 1998 with no previous holes, mounting spots.

I have been quoted $500.00 for one, sounds pretty bloody expensive. Is it worth me buying the bar off the internet and getting someone to fit it?. I'm after one that can detach.

any recommendation on places?. I need one with the break lights for legality.

Don't know if it helps, but I bought one (2nd hand in good nick for $150) from a member off here 2.5 years back for my 99 WRX sedan. It is a Hayman Reece brand with Subaru spec sticker, specifically for GC8's & is a straight bolt-up to existing underbody bolts. Also comes with proprietory loom connector for existing loom plug located inside back boot panel. It is not the removable tongue type but may give you a starting place to look. I imagine your 98 hatch would have the same fitment.

Easy to fit - comes with instructions, wiring harness, everything you need except a spanner.

The genuine Subaru ones are Hayman Reece. I've got the same one, the under bar work is for gc/gf series, and then the tongue i have is from a 2nd gen Liberty, works a treat.
