There's your answer. As with all the intervals it is whichever occurs first, not just how many kms you do. If you want to keep your warranty you have to go every 3 months.

Its better for your car anyway, the more you sevice it the longer it will last.

Thanks for your reply meatbag.

I see where you're getting at..but if I can give you this example...

Subaru expects me to do the 37,500kms service in 18 months time...i know for sure I will only do about 10,000kms in that time! Now, the 37,500kms service includes changing air filters, replacing brake/powersteering fluids, radiator flush etc..which is fair enough since the car has done 37,500kms

But if my car has only done 10,000kms, is it really necessary to get all those things done juz bcoz the 18 months period is up???!!

btw i plan to change the oil and oil filter myself every 3 months.

I think its silly to change air filters and have a radiator flush etc when the car has only done 10,000kms!!! Not to mention, a waste of money...cant see why we cant juz do a major service when the car has done the kms and juz change the oil and oil filter in between!

quoting yourself and answering it? lol

But yes I agree that it sounds silly and is probably over the top. If it weren't for warranty there wouldn't be a problem with waiting until you have racked up a few more K's. Unfortunatly If you want to keep your warranty you haev to go by the books. It might be worth having a chat with your dealer to see what his thoguhts are.

Fark, you're confusing yourself as well as us!

Do the service at whatever interval comes up first (time or km). There is a reason that they have the time intervals, because fluids get old even if they haven't been used.

P.S. we own an MY09 also.
