Mod the suspention. Sway bars, struts bars, coilovers, bushes, braces, etc. Then do brakes etc. All of which are useful upgrades. Your car has approx 70kw at the wheels now. So by the end you will have maybe 75kw. Big woop that will be. Spend money on real things then spend on a convertion or save for a dif car.

Could always pick up a cheap N/A 2.5L long motor and drop it in
You'll feel the difference straight away, performance and wallet wise

Not worth the effort modding n/a matey........ unless you do cams, ecu, full exhaust....then you'll net top end, but lose bottom end.

Under drive pulley will make the steering shudder at carpark speeds and add 2/10ths of fk all.

Lightweight flywheel will kill the driveability on hill starts and add squat to the top end.

Do a diff back to get some burble......Save your cash for an Sti 207 conversion, 3" tbe and an ecu (power fc, link etc).

Or do Suspension/ brakes now and to get it ready for more powa.

Certainly can, advance timing by a couple of degrees using timing light, then reset of ECU. Having said that, I did that with my SSS pulsar and EJ could be different.

Re-invent the wheel blah fucken blah.

Seriously you can do a couple of simple mods and will net you approx 10-15kw which would be noticeable and not to expensive. As for the underdrive kit shuddering?!? Never had that problem, I wouldn't say they made a huge difference but the car did rev a bit freer. At the end of the day this will give you a daily with a tad more punch that wont kill your pocket fuel/insurance wise.

Having said all of this im a hypocrite...Im always trying to find a bigger turbo lol

I know you're probably itching to 'mod' your car mate, we all love to, but it would be best for you to save the money and get yourself a turbo Foz.

The wait may be awhile, but it will be worth it. Don't take this the wrong way, I have an STi and my wife has a N/A Forester - and hers is the 2.5L, not the 2L. Its a great car, but performance wise, well trust me mate when I tell you that after driving a turbo Subaru the N/A stuff feels like a slug with asthma...

Save the money dude and get the real thing.

Cheers
Zombee

Turbos arent everything, at the end of the day its going to cost you a shit load more in fuel insurance and not to mention the conversion.
