The genuine STI front lip is actually metal. Well is for the 03-05 model. Last time I was there, Subaru OP had one in stock. Metal with the STI badge in the centre... and yeah, REALLY expensive, I want it though.

hmm ok. Not sure for the 03-05 but for the 06, the sales person bent the lip. I had a play around with it and it is flexible.

Kinda the best of both worlds. Scratch proof and reasonably good looking.
