Default Fitting HKS SSQV 2 to MY00 WRX

Hey guys I just bought this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...SA:MOTORS:1123

And I am looking to fit it to my MY00 (not bug eye) WRX. Can someone please help me decide:

  1. Do i need a seperate flange?
  2. Should i buy and install a recirculation kit?
  3. Any guides out there to help me?
I am quite noob with Subarus but pretty good mechanically overall. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!!

You'll definitely need to purchase a flange for the stock MY00 TMIC.
Something like this:

BOVs that vent externally are purely wank factor and add nothing to the performance of your motor (on a stock setup, they're detrimental if anything). I'd recommend a BOV that recirculates into the intake, like the stock unit

If you want to use the SSQV then get a recirc. kit - hopefully one of the guys with the kit will jump in and tell you about it because I don't see the point of replacing the stock BOV unless you're running huge amounts of boost anyway...

agree to the wank factor...get something that will actually improve the performance than just the sound of it.........

SSQV can be plumbed back (mine is)

Mines on a '00 v6 sti, I'll post a pic of how mines mounted tonight for you if you like.

It's one of few BOV's that are blown SHUT by boost pressure and use viton seals (ie. they never leak).

The whistle is easily removed and the resulting sound is very mellow/subdued if run vent to atmosphere....
