i know alot of ppl who are getting away from monitored alarms due to the whole call up the person first before they check on the house which as a youth who new ppl who broke into houses (slapped em for it dont worry) they roughly know they got a bit of time hence y alot of times there are repeated break ins on the same house. Just so they can get what that couldnt in alloted time.
What alot of ppl are doin now is getting it hooked up to their mobile. So wen the alarm goes off they get a call and they just call a neighbour or if not far away drive back to have a look. Dunno how effective it is but that is wat i have been told alot of ppl are doin. Which is wat we just got in our house.
But i want one i can monitor with a laptop and stuff. Where can i get that one from u mentioned nvrenuf. and how much it cost

i will organise the response to be automatic rather than call me first, the thing is i'm going to be overseas alot so ringing me will be totally pointless. i like the idea of being able to monitor it from a laptop though that sounds cool

IP Cameras are you friend.

EBAY sells them for ~$100 I have been thinking of doing similar in my place, but more to watch what my dog is tearing apart more than watch robbers come in

Amen to that! Although I am looking at getting some of the wireless cameras from eBay and then hooking them up to a DVR receiver or something similar.

Hey guys.. currently looking at alarming the Mrs place before we move in.

Wondering who the best company is.. Got a quote from RAC Security for a monitored system and it wasn't cheap, but I suppose that sort of thing is hard to install etc.

Anybody work for or know where I can get a reasonable system but a good price?
