It is totally a $$ saving exercise. As for the coppers being able to check every car etc, that is crap. I read in the paper that all cop cars will have "state of the art" in car computers and rego plate reading cameras, what a load of crap. The ARGUS camera which is the one that reads rego plates costs a fortune and there are only 2 in the state so say they will be in each car, what a laugh.
If anything, removing the rego stickers will make things more time consuming and harder to spot unreg cars. What do you think the first thing a cop car sees when a car goes past the opposite way....... the out of date sticker (amongst other things).

When an RBT is being done, a quick look at the sticker is alot quicker than going back to the car and running up each car. Once again, another stupid decision by the higher ups to save a quid along with taking away the motor bikes.

As has been said before, its too easy to get a sticker so its really not worth two nobs of goat shit imo. I smashed a windscreen and needed a new sticker so I walked into my local and asked for one. Told them I'd smashed the screen and needed a sticker for the new one, she asked me what date it was due and handed me the sticker... didnt ask for rego or name or anything so its not hard to get a sticker for an unregistered car at all.
