Hey Guys

Looking to get my first WRX (and turbo car).
Started looking at an 04 WRX and one thing led to the other and i have now worked my way up to looking at a brand new one (sedan).

Took a 09 for a test drive and liked it!
Most people with one seem to like them alot, anything to look out for?

So whats a good deal on a new WRX in Perth? What have other people paid?

Was also considering waiting till the Perth Motor Show, do they do decent deals there? Is in April though so dont know if i can wait that long.

Hey mate

I work at Subaru in Osborne Park and have had a word with the New Car Manager.

They are currently running a campaign which includes 2 years extra warranty, Free Rego, Free Stamp Duty and $500 of accessories.

Give us a call on 0405 466 080 if you want some more information and ask for Stuart.

What are you plans for the car? Do you plan on modifying it or doing any trackdays or entering sprints / hillclimbs and the like?

See i was in the same boat as u very recently, just b4 i got mine....
never had a rex b4, never had a turbo b4.... i was looking at the older models, and i know most ppl look after them, but some do still get thrashed and u never know what could be wrong....
ive had my 2007 my08 (hatch shape) for 2 weeks now, and its perfect...
got it with 22,000ks on the clock for $30,000 and its everything i expected and more....
i dont know bout buying an all out new 1, they still cost a bit, new 09 models retail for around $45,000.... and for something thats only 2 years old with a few k's on the clock, still under subaru and my dealers new car warrentee.... its a better option pricewise imo...... then with the $15k u save, imagine with u could do to the car lol

Go the MY09/10... they are fantastic and a massive step above the MY08 dynamically, and in performance. Officially the fastest out of the box WRX ever sold in Australia! Make sure you opt for the leather/sunroof pack if you can, its nice.

Can't beat certain aspects of a new car either, although resale takes a hit when you buy new, some people love it because its untouched and never used.

Or if you want to mod and you really want the MY08 onwards shape, the advice above is good.. but to get to where the MY09 is standard, you'll have to change suspension, tyres, turbo, exhaust, cooler and ECU at a minimum (as these are the main changes from the 08 to 09).

All the better when your MY00 rattler gets bitch slapped by one of the many bitch cars that have been released in the last 10 years
