Looks to me like a Gen 1 Series 1 like Doug/Rob Herridge have which were 89/90/early91, would they have used a 2yo car in the WRC ??

looks like it. they never really changed the look of the GrpA impreza until the WRC version came out either

Yeah, I don't know why but they never used series 2 Legacys in the WRC, all Prodrive cars were series 1 right up until they went to the WRX.
