Arrow Driving Over East

Hey,

Has anyone here driven their wrx across to the eastern sea board? Any positive negative experiences you'd like to share with car reliability and whatnot? (haha and rioting aboriginies in wilcanya...)

I crossed over to byron bay about 3 weeks ago in mums new BMW - loved it (awesome power slides ;-) ) hehe; anyways as i'm moving over there too, i've decided to drive rexxy across. She'll be fully serviced by the time i depart - so there shouldn't be any hassles there... Departing on the 8th if anyone wants to tag team across the country...? haha

TL;DR what are rexxies like over 5000km of very high speed driving?

Cheers for any input peoples

I cant comment on on 5000km's but i can say that mine after a round trip to esperance, so 1300+ k's, with a few spurts to overtake went great, and felt like it was running better and more responsive afterwards too

If you going to drive at high speeds i think it would be best to drive at night. Much safer!!! at least for the other drivers.

Not so good for big red roos. On a trip over the Nullabor I witnessed a 7" red get from one side of the road to the other without touching the asphalt. Hit one of them and it'll be a write off with possible driver fatality! Not as bad as camels or emus up north but....

Unless you are driving a semi trailer with one kick ass bull bar... Don't drive at night.

Only problems I see are fuel and ride comfort. Car can do it no problems at all.

Having been through the nullarbor all I can say is try not to travel at sunrise and sunset, thats usually when the roo's are more likely to be seen. And yes some of them are massive. There are some pretty nice whale-watching lookout points along the coast that are defiantly worth seeing.
