Default Spec C motor into GC8

Guys is it possible to fit a MY05 complete Spec C motor into
my version 6 sti, or more trouble than it's worth.

I ask as my old motor out of my Spec C is available to me.

Cheers

I have my old verso'd ecu that was with this motor, only issue
may be the immobilizer part of the ecu.

Will be interesting to see what you decide to do here because I am in the same boat in terms of the AVCS. Definate gains to be had.

factory ecu requires a lot more sensors etc which you would have to wire through, at which point i'd call the job a little too big to say 'a weekend'.

an avcs enabled pnp m800 or perhaps a late model autronic with a custom adaptor loom would make the job a million times easier over a factory ecu.

all thats required is a bit of work on the engine loom and minor adjustments of pins at the ECU.

My original spec c motor has been sitting idle on a pallet
for 18 months, seems too good to waste. Hence this idea
to use it.....

If you wanna simplify it.

Bolt on the my99 intake manifold and forget about the AVCS stuff.

As close as you can get to Plug and play.

Good stuff Gav! should be an awesome car going on your last
project.

When I get some spare cash I'm wanting to do kinda the same
thing only put everything from a Spec C into a GC shell with interior
and all running gear, should be an interesting build but will take my
time as there is no rush.
