Locusts killed my99
Hey! So this is how my perth to Byron bay (via wagga wagga) roadtrip has ended about 1000km ago there was a locust plauge... Engine overheated a lil, unbeknown to me (APEXI FC YOU LIE!!! TELL ME THE TRUTH DAMMIT!!! SO I KNOW TO STOP) head gasket went. Haha and now I'm running on two cylinders so I'm putting her on a trailer for the remaining 400km. Haha hopefully being toed by a foz to retain subarus dignity...
Anyways. How hard is it to replace a head gasket on a boxer engine? I have plenty of time for a diy, as I'm on holidays - but would it be better to pay someone to do it? Has anyone out there had this experience too? and know the approx costs involved? Diy vs unknown mechanic?
Ps here she is halfway across
