The peak torque hits at the same point but the twin scroll has a fatter area under the curve.

I have scored a Spec C top mount inter-cooler from our cousins in NZD (Has the twin tanks), also another goodie will be on the way from NZD.

So funds permitting I will get ASG to install the Spec c top mount and then get it re-tuned to see if it is any better than the process west TMIC.

So all watch this space, the other item I mentioned is a few weeks away, anyone guess what it may be

No have not done this yet, reason is there is some modifying to do and to be honest the gains may not outweigh the expense.

Plus my new turbo was damaged during transit and is not repaired yet, I'm sure I could offload the Spec C TMIC if I needed some coin!!

fair enough, would be nice to finally see some actual figures...

good luck getting the new turbo and everything back on track... but I think you should keep the Autronic.

To be honest I am thinking about the Vipec (Link G4), spoke to Sean today and he says good things about this ecu.

But again, it is more money to spend, mind you I can sell the Power FC and Autronic.

cheers

what is it thats making you want to get rid of the Autronic over the Power FC, or what is it that the missing Link has that the others don't?

That's a good question, the Power FC has perfect idle which is a biggy for me as I drive the car daily, the SM4 I had in my Spec C had idle issues and that is my major concern....

On the Autronic plus side is I can ditch the AFM and install a nice CAI, another downside is I think the SMC does not do launch control, the new Vipec does.

Plenty of functionality in the Powerfc.

Hi Gav,

I think some of your idle issues with the autronic on your old car may have something to do with the tuner.

They learnt their tuning skills on race/rally cars where idle quality is not considered to be too important.

I like the new toy by the way.

Do you still have have your versoed ecu from the sti?
