Clearing parts through Fremantle Port
Hi crew,
I have a car part (windscreen) coming from the UK. It is coming by sea. A friend had a couple sent over from the same supplier and got arse raped at this end getting it off the port. I am hoping to avoid having a new one torn. Anyone out there deal with this kind of stuff offer some advice or handle it for me? I am guessing the trick is to have the arrival details sorted before it arrives and have its clearance planned rather than it just lob up and get kicked around the port and everyone charging for the priviledge. Any help appreciated.

Blaise - if unsure appoint a customs agent from the yellow pages or at least talk to one and pich their brains. Can't remember how much it costs... Could also try ringing Aussie Customs also and find out what is required to expedite?? good luck

Thanks Bruce. One of the good members on this site has stepped up to the plate. (BREW) Hoping we can be a little proactive and manage the import rather than just let it fumble its way through.
Brendon, correct, it is a heated screen.
