As Chee said near the top --- Take a look at Axis Racing
I think they are now called Raw Performance

http://www.raw1performance.com/index_files/Page678.html
http://www.subydriver.com/axra2shst3wr.html

They do a range of rebuilt Subi motors, esp the 2.5 L with various mods and brands of forged internals.
Check out on the NASIOC forum.
The current $A / US$ exchange rate means that import prices are competitive.

Their Signature series block looks alright.
Only problem i have is the CP pistons. I wouldnt mind getting a photo or some specs of the slug they use.

if your going to buy a crate motor from somewhere outside Aus, have you looked into freight, customs etc? imagine getting it here only to find its been dropped or something... I thought about buying a crate 207 from JUN or cosworth, but for the dollars plus freight etc, firstly i dont know if it will be much cheaper than having one built by a WA shop, secondly piece of mind regarding faults etc. The only upside i can see is it would probably be alot quicker! My motor still hasnt been started yet

What about a built 2.34? Plenty of torque and the only reason my last one died was because the radiator cracked...and my missus didnt realise :'( Best motor I have had to date!

Ever seen a stock 257 or 255 with over 200,000km on it? Me neither.
