98 is the most difficult to fit one to (due to the location of the IACV), but I believe it can be done if you are crafty enough.

IAC is not too bad. You can fit an adapter to the TMIC that has an elbo that will clear it away from the IAC.
The clutch reservoir may be in the way though.

They are just a flat plate that bolts on where the later model BOV goes with a 90 degree elbo that runs off to the passenger side so you can run it back to your factory BOV.
Few on ebay but some bigger brands sell em. Really simple.
I made my own, just got an idea from some pic's and made it up at work. Didnt use the cooler though because it fouled on other things.

It was a big after market item, not STI.

I thought we were talking about the early divorced Idle air control motor being in the way....not the BOV?

Clutch res can be cut (from the bottom not the top!) with a stanley knife

Yep the IAC fouled on the 99 onwards BOV but it was easier to move the BOV than move the IAC.
Re-read my first post and it can be read either way, sorry. I'll fix it.

Not what it is advertised for but I kept mine close to the TMIC and it cleared.

I didnt get to cut the reservoir but as ROSSCO says it doesnt seem to be too hard.
