The problem I’m having is finding low km STI half cuts....
I'm heading up to JWS today to have a chat with them.
I called Swan Autos but they don’t seem interest in my business at all.
I found another guy recommended on the forums, he has an STI engine but its got 150,000+ k's on it...... a little to high me thinks

why not just get a 207 short block? You've already got all the turbo gear already?

So as you suggested, I can buy a 207 short block off e-bay and fit all my existing parts to it....

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Subaru-STi-EJ...-/110527828167

I’d still be using my standard computer, turbo etc....

So I’m guessing I won’t get to much more power out of her?

I gave Geoff Kendrick a call. They can fully recon my existing engine for around $6000 + GST
I'd then still be looking at a $1500 minimum to do something about the gear box....
I like the sound of a fully recond engine (but not the $$$)
I guess I’m still wary of a second hand engine with 100,000k's on it.......

207 short block + retune will get you a bit more power... but you'll need to upgrade various other supporting mods...(injectors/fuel pump) if you haven't already!
