Funny how some people think genuine is the only way.

You don't have to use genuine Subaru oil mate. Lots of people, including me use aftermarkets oils like Penrite, Motul and castrol oils. all these oils are just as good as genuine Subaru oil. i personally use Penrite syn 5w 40

Im pretty sure Subaru oil comes out of the same factory as Castrol?
Maybe you can get away with that instead just get the same rating and you're set

Or why not go for something different ie .Motul 4100, Penrite....

edit: haha beat me to it redlib!

Dealers rarely use subarus oil and as far as I know it is Castrol oil,
It was last time I looked anyway.
they use what ever they can get the best deal on,
you can select a similar or better oil for much less money
select a 10w40 semi sinthetic oil and you wont go wrong

honestly it was just the price i was concerned about, if money wasn't the issue i would rather get motul or something, like i said i did a search and i understand that u don't only have 2 use genuine... had a "guy" that works for suby and said that he cun get it cheaper than what i can, wtf r u pulling my leg or wat? guess $55 is reasonable, i have a wife, 2 morgages, 10 month bby girl, and second wife (my suby) and im an apprentice ok so hope u guys understand that im not trying 2 b a cheapo

thank u guys 4 the replies
