Default 2011 STi to get an Auto Box

Quote:
It was always going to happen, Subaru’s halo car, the Impreza WRX STI, will soon be available with a five-speed automatic transmission. The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive Model Year 2011 Impreza WRX STI will then be able to compete with the Mitsubishi Evolution X SST and the recently launched Volkswagen Golf R, both of which offer dual-clutch rapid-shift transmissions.

In Subaru’s case the five-speed automatic will be a traditional gearbox but the company says it will still remain a “fantastic driver’s car”. Given the STI has been known for being the ultimate in practical sportcars, the introduction of an automatic gearbox comes at no surprise.

Does this then retain the boost when gearing up?

The STi A-Line JDM release "Auto-Line" has been around since
2006 as a LTD EDT so nothing new really just the rest of the world
is getting them now.

The 2006 WRX STI A-Line was mechanically the same as the Japan-spec STI.

The exterior has been toned down with the removal of large rear spoiler, black Brembo brakes, titanium colored Enkei wheels, a black STI front lip and leather seats in order to target the more "mature" market.

So the new model has apparent more "mature" extras such as beige leather
seats and trim options.

Trying to make it too European if you ask me!

if its anything like the new GT Liberty auto's, should still be an enjoyable car to drive, possibly quicker
