i have the opportunity to purchase a 2 door STI but wouldn't mind a newer car, what do you think, 2 door or spend a few extra grand to get a 05-07 STI?

2 door if its genuine, near factory and will be rarely driven,
or an 05 sti for a daily driver.

05 sti gets my vote, although you could add 6speed and brembos to a v5 and get a pretty neat lightweight package instead

06-07 sti

You have a much better chance of walking away from an accident in a GD than the wobbly jelly classics.

There have been a few big accidents in the last few years. Chances are you wont be one of them but it was one of the things that made the Pro's list longer than the Cons list when I upgraded.
