Long drive.
Drove the spec c up to my work in sandstone yesterday. Absolutely loved it. No problems whatsover. Only downside was fuel consumption. But I'm sure if I had of tried to make the trip last longer then I could have bought that down. Went through 2 and a bit tanks for just over 750kms.
Anyone else do long trips in theirs often? |

Took mine up to Monkey Mia, stopped at Jurien Bay, Kalbarri and Geraldton along the way...2000km round trip all up or something.
Was very reliable for the whole trip, great to have a powerful car for overtaking with less risk on the highways. There are a lot more BP petrol stations out there than you'd think, I had no trouble filling up with 98 octane. But the prices are quite high once you start getting out in those remote areas. Only problem I had on the trip was a very bumpy ride on some rough gravel roads heading out to a campsite near Jurien Bay... And even though I went with all my mates etc, the driving was kept strictly sensible, as if you go off the road or break something up there, its a LONG tow back home! |

When I got mine in May drove it back to Carnarvon got around 550km to the tank, didn't put my foot down alot apart from overtaking. I usually drive to Perth every 6 months. AS Jezza stated it is easier to find 98 octane than everyone makes it out to be in the country area.

Did a Perth => Denmark => Perth run one Sunday arvo when bored. left just after 1pm, arrived Denmark in time for dinner bout 5pm, then came back to Perth via some random dirt road...i think i was half way through my 3rd tank of fuel when i reached Perth...running on fuel light after being on the gravel for about an hour and a half seeing signs saying "Nearest Water 15km" and no other cars, we got to a can't go back, gotta keep going and hope for the best moment (= came out just outside Mandurah somewhere, quite luckily came across a BP and all was good (=

Drove mine to Maccas CV last night and used 1/16 of a tank.
But seriously that's pretty good considering how much Gav's old car goes through fuel!!!!!
