Has more of a 'track focused mod' (i.e. I need wide wheel arches and dont give a f#ck what it looks like so long as it goes fast) look to it, rather than the Autosalon look.

Me neither. Cutting the quarters would have me nervous! I like the look though.. and it's more practical than other methods out there.

Can always change front fenders and rear quarters. I wonder if its possible with a 4 door... The rear doors might get in the way. Should give it a shot.
