One of the boys carried out a PD on an MY11 Foz today, opened the bonnet and there it was, Subaru's new FB25. So the new engines are here, will road and report.

Edit: took it for a drive, its not a really torquey engine, reminds me of a 2.0R Impreza. Redline set at 6300rpm so quite high revving for a 2.5

i think they go a heap better than the previous 2.5 , and are a lot more responsive.
nothing like a 2.0r impreza at all IMO

Not yet, haven't heard anything regarding turbo's yet. Its in the Forester first so I would think the XT would have to be an FB turbo. Can't wait for that.

Yeah Dean at MMS has had one since the beginning of the year and it has the chains instead of the old rubber belts. :0

Would be kool if Subaru parts Aust had the FB20T blocks somehow available, it'll never happen though due to emissions etc but would be interesting to see what these would put out with a few mods and how much it could handle.
