STi Alarm Category
Hi All
Just wanting to know if anyone can knows what category the Alarm is that is factory with the STi. Is it 3, 4 or 5 Ive done a search and cant find the answer, also not looking at getting another alarm, or what is better, or why I should change either. Just wanting to know the category first before I make any decision about the alarm. Thanks for reading James

Is this in regards to your insurance company?

The Brant alarm has never been catogorized. So it is none of the above. If you are going to upgrade, speak to Macey at Westside Cannington, get him to integrate an Autowatch alarm into your current keypad and then you will have a cat4 alarm at minimum.

I don't have a key pad. The MY11 don't have that and if they do I haven't found it yet. Not to sure what make the new alarms are either.
I got asked by my insurance company what category it is as they offer discount if it is 4 or 5. If I can't find out what category it is or it is not to my liking then I will look at upgrading. I has a autowatch in my bugeye and loved it.

Send Subaru an email:
http://www.subaru.com.au/about-subaru/contact-us/ Just put something in that your insurer wants to know what category the factory alarm is. Once they get back to you, let us all know!

Pop it down and you should see it quite easily. Quite sure that the keypad isn't enabled by default

The keyboard isn't on by default. When I got mine Cam @ Subaru Osborne Park told me if I wanted the keypad activated to bring it in and they'd set it up
Been mulling over whether or not to do this.. Mainly for piece of mind I guess. |

Even give Macey a call on 9458 9960 and see if he knows what category it is. He certainly knows a whole lot about the Brant alarms, he has a whole box of them under his bench.

The 08 onwards is not a Brant alarm system, it is made by Sigma in England and is not an aftermarket fitment. It plugs directly into the factory harnesses. The keypad is not turned on when delivered but can be activated bya Subaru Dealership.
Call Subaru Aus and they should be able to advise on catagory.

Your local Subaru Service Department will be able to activate AND relocate the keypad for you to a more user friendly position
