09 wrx has long life coolant , it's dark blue. Doesn't need to be changed for 6 years
Didn't know this. I assume there is no worries using it in older models? Whats the cost of the long life coolant? |
All my 08 models and up use it. Fine to use in older models, as long as you give the cooling system a full flush and there's no other type of coolant in there as it ruins the mixture.
It retails at 100 for 5 liters |

opps, I thought it was green. |
Genuine it is then.
Thanks for all the helps, guys. |
Wow!..... You are so far off the mark here mate!
Just because a coolant is green doesn't mean squat! there are currently 5 different chemical combinations that are green..... And only two work well with alloy. Use a quality ethylene glycol coolant if you don't want to buy genuine, but genuine is the best for the long term.
But if it has been flushed does it matter? It's all the same stuff in the one cooling system so it won't be interacting with a different type. |

Yes it does. They are different chemicals. You don't put red cordial in your gearbox, but both are the same colour? |

Incorrect, like Rossco said, just because its green doesn't mean it suitable for Subaru engines. Genuine is really the best option and not that expensive. Edit: Kato beat me to it |
Last time I went to dealer for a oil change, they told me they use syntrax as oem trans fluid, not sure whether it can be used as diff oil.
Syntrax is suitable for diffs as well. Probably the best option for Subaru diffs and gearboxes. |
Just piss in the radiator after drinking green cordial
