If you don't want to spend money looking after your car, you should've got a Hyundai.

I was shocked before, because meville subaru gave me a quote of $1100 for this 50000km service. So I thought I could buy those parts myself.

Then I contact James from city subaru. As it turns out, it was a mistake as they gave me the price for 06 wrx. Now I decide to go to city subaru for this service.

just to clear it up

05 and before wrx price is around 1100
06-08 manual 50,000 $650, automatic $750
08- current M 50,000 $600, auto $700

difference between 06-08 and 08-current being no need for a coolant change due to the long life.
05 and before models you change fuel filters, air filter, spark plugs etc, hence the extra price

Would someone know if it's ok to use toyota red long life coolant? I read somewhere that somebody was using for a subaru. It's just because I have some lying around

MY00GC8 25-05-2011 02:38 PM

I wouldn't risk it, just spend the $60.00 and be safe.
Yes it does.

They are different chemicals.

You don't put red cordial in your gearbox, but both are the same colour?
So after flushing my cooling system (along with replacing my radiator) then replacing with a Nulon long-life heavy duty green coolant I'm doing it harm? I don't believe that. Obviously read what is in the coolant first and dont just put any sort of green in there...

RUSSGT 25-05-2011 02:44 PM

^^Na it'll blow up! For sure!

SKYHIONPSI 25-05-2011 02:46 PM

Hell yeah. Glad i don't own that car anymore, dodged a bullet in the end.
