Default Project P [MY11]

Hi everyone,

I have a WRX MY11 and have plans to start putting on some modifications on my babe.

I don't have much experience in modding so please bare with me!.

I plan on spending around 5k on her.

Would be appreciated if you guys could kindly provide me with some info/guide!.

Phil, as a fellow MY11 owner I'd recommend getting some handling mods done first and work your way from there.

I've done the following modifications to my car and it has really transformed the ride of the car and also gotten rid of that annoying head bobble
  • 22mm front sway bar (BSF39Z) & front sway bar links (KLC139)
  • 22mm rear sway bar (BSR49XZ) & rear sway bar links (KLC166)
  • roll centre/bump steer kit (KCA313)
  • control arm supports (KBR14)
  • camber bolt kit (KCA414)
  • anti lift kit (KCA334)
  • HSD HR coilovers

Edit: There are choices for coilovers, such as KW, Cusco, Tein, Buddy Club, etc.

^^^

WHS x 1,000

Smash handling, get use to the car, then smash in some more power!

(hopefully avoiding a smashed block in between )

Take it down to RAC/MC motorsport @ the airport and drive it first, see what you like and what you dont like and go from there (always good to learn the limits of the stock car too).

Personally, I'd be learning how to drive it (fast and safely on a track) before you mod it but its up to you.

If you have to mod it, follow what Tony has done to his, awesome handling mods for an already quick-ass car

Thanks. Is it more stiff? Less roll? I do not plan to drive my babe on the track but I do want to make it mean.

Hey man read xsv4rce's post get it on track and see what you don't like about it.

I'm sure if he's there Tony will let you ride shot gun to see what handling mods can do

It is stiffer and roll is next to non-existant.
Recently took it on the skid pan at AHG and considering it was my first time out there, I was very impressed on how well the car handles.

If you don't want to compromise the ride quality by making it too stiff, then I would still recommend the above mentioned modifications but without the coilovers.

No one will ever get shotgun in my car, minus Doug and Kym on the recent skid pan.
However, I extend the offer of taking any interested MY11 owner for a spin to see how a mildly modded wrx feels.

Keep an eye out on these forums as certain members do plan the odd skid pan from time to time, but you will have to be quick as the spots fill up very quickly!
