Default Walbro fuel pump Help, fake or not?

Hi,

I have recently bought a walbro fuel pump for my Ej25 L series conversion. It was more of an impulse buy Lol. Anyway, I have two main questions.

If its an in tank one, would i be able to use it for external purposes?

After reading on forums i realized that China made some very very similar copies of them that were hard to detect. Is mine a china copy? how can i tell?

As you can see its got that in tank filter thing
I'm asking as i rather loose a few $$ than lean out the motor, should the pump fail at any point.
Lol.

Thx

How's your weekend? Mine hasnt ended yet, still making pizzas....

Fake or not, you already bought it. Use it.

But before you put it in, get a AFR wideband and install it in your car to monitor AFRs. Always good to be able know your AFRs . Who's to say that the real or fake Walbro or any fuel pump in any case, will not fail at some point in time, lean out your motor and damage it.

Regards.

having searched, AFR = Air Fuel Ratio. Now say i spend the $$ and get one installed. Will i have enough time to see the pump failing before i lean out the engine? do they lean out instantly or progressively?

where can i get a good reasonably priced AFR wideband?

Will i be able to fit it myself?

You can do it yourself if you want but I suggest you bring it to your mechanic to
get it fitted.

Instantly or progressively ---- doesnt matter, at 7000rpm, it takes a split second to kill your motor.

Although you are asking the right qns here, best to go drop by some of the dyno places in Perth and have a chat with them.

My 2cents.

If its in split second, how will installing a $200 AFR wideband protect my engine?

Get this.. MTX-L Wideband O2 Digital Air/fuel Ratio Gauge

I bought it from US for $185 delivered, and it's a bloody good gauge. Comes with a new o2 sensor as well. Highly recommend it
