Could be a number of things. Most likely AFM or spark plugs.

If it's only happening on heavy boost I'd say the plugs.

I run a Unichip on my MY00 WRX, with a similar setup, but mine has the boost module, instead of using a bleed valve or anything. I had a similar problem to you last year, and thought it could have been a tuning issue, but turned out the plugs just needed changing.

Hi. Thanks for the input. I went to the mechanic and he tried a new one with no luck. It certianly is worse at night and feels like it is barely able to fire under strong throttle. I did get the codes checked and a knock sensor error came up and one other. I have been told it could be a spark related issue, perhaps a lead or plug problem. I will definately take it easy until it is sorted. Cheers

It's over boosting, worse on colder nights.

Hi all, thanks for your ideas. It is now fixed! It was a hole in the intake pipe and the plugs were absolutely stuffed from the engine running to lean. Cheers for that.

stirex:
West Racing in Osborne Park does unichip.
westracing.com.au
Unit 5/6 O'Malley Street 9446 1913

nothing wrong with unichip. depends on the application.
I had one on for a few years, got < 10% more power, more torque and fuel economy.
