Not meant to own a WRX
Hey boys and girls,
After what happened to the red Betty (most of you know the story) I thought the black pig was going to solve all the issues. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem so as this happened last night. Something is telling me I just don't think I was meant to own a WRX. In all honesty, I don't even know what happened. 200 meters from home, not concentrating, crossing Scarborough beach road onto my side street and took out a surb somehome. Accepting full responsibility and just a momentary lapse in concentration. Had it towed to a holding yard and now trying to work out if insurance is going to be the way to go or spend a weekend ripping out what is required and replacing it. Anyone hazard a guess on what would be required? Obviously whole rear assembly, but don't know what this includes or how much it would cost me. One of the reasons I went back to the pig was that the 01-07 parts remained the same (as far as I'm aware?) and I should be able to pick up what is required at a wrecker. The primary concern the towie pointed out is the slight twisting of the cross member which can be seen in the second photo. Anyone seen/done this or been through the experience? Flame away as it is a damn retarded thing to happen but also after some honest advice. Cheers.
