Wouldn't surprise me, I work
In the car industry and my wife works for Ford. There is no doubt the Aussie built models have been getting pushed hard with the intentional detriment to models made outside Aus. Obviously the efforts haven't been enough as Ford are failing hard.

Will definitely be a shame to see all manufacturing go to other countries, but it might mean cheaper cars in the long run - maybe.

Dear Ford,

If you can't sell the Falcon, please let me buy a Shelby GT500 Mustang at a non-crack importer price.

Yours in burnouts,

Kato

Ford have been threatening the end of Aussie production for over 15-20 years now.
The Taurus was their experiment at replacing the Falcon.

Unless they find a RWD replacement they will be risking a pretty big hit on their sales.
