Default Impreza Vs Lancer

Sure the Lancer has the Evo to compete with the Sti but what does Mitsubishi have to compete with the WRX?? Sure the VRX is a step up from standed but really its no where near a WRX.

Post your opinions.

There are lots of really super hot non evo Lancers out there, just look for the ones with body kits, 3" tip & drum brakes on the back...........So fast and fulli sik, just ask the owners.

My sister's boyfriend won the Tauranga rally (NZ) in a Evo 9. He use to drive a VR-4 (2L Turbs) which compares with a WRX...Pity they didn't evolve (ie keep making) the VR-4.

In Australia there isnt a mitsubishi sold locally that was aimed at competing with the wrx.

I owned a VR4 Legnum back in Kiwi land, had it imported direct from Japan, cost me $17000 landed and on the road, had ~80,000ks on the clock and was a great car.....i liked it so much i wanted to get it brought over with me...but too many import taxes and the costs were prohibitive because there arnt too many in WA and the transport authority basically blocked me when eva i challenged them-ARG!! i said....anyway, great car (VR4) got some of the fruit the EVO got, just bit bigger......Given the choice i would still buy another STI...wouldnt even stop to think now that ive experienced both.

The GSR came out at the same time as the WRX - it was a lighweight rocket but Mitsu bailed soon after and left the WRX with no competition.

Nothing, they've got the market for cheaply made econoboxes covered, their performance lineup is non existant.

Exactly. Mistu used to have the GSR for that market but now there is nothing. The plans are for when the X comes out that we will see a car made for the WRX market then. Until then it's Evo time.
