I have the MXS5.0 too. Great unit although I do have an issue with it setting of my alarm, but that is probably from the car having a shit battery to start with.

my 2c worth...

My car will also go flat if not used for a week... its the security system that drains it.

But a word of warning... some of the chargers out there (mine included) make you
press a "mode" button when you first connect them. The problem is, if the power goes
out, even for 2 minutes, the stupid things stop charging until someone presses the
mode button again. So, make sure whatever you get will actually resume charging
after a power outage.

Interestingly, looking at the MXS 5.0 that other have, it appears that this charger
has exactly that problem. If the power goes out (or someone accidentally knocks the switch)
it will not resume recharging. Unfortunate that they put so much effort into
such a great charger but overlooked such an obvious problem.

You can get the mxs 5.0 for just under $100 on eBay (shipping included) - Australian seller.

I ordered one today so will see how it goes. Interesting point about power outages tho...

Mine continues to recharge after the power returns?

Not sure what you are on about. There is a mode button for the different types of charging, but it 'turns on' to the previously used mode.
