I'll check everything I can on the weekend or before if time permits!?.

The noise from the back isn't knocking its like a loud rubbing type noise, A friction sounding noise that I'm suspecting is wheel Bearings?. Are they a pain to change out in the Subaru's?
with the right tools and a press they are easy to do, time consuming though
better to get a workshop to do it

ARRRRGGHHH I have the worst luck with cars

I tried to remove that Timing belt cover just for a look at the condition of the belt, I got 1 bolt out but the others will not come out = the nuts on the back side are turning in the plastic!!??. God knows how I'll be able to get the belt changed if those nuts wont come out.

The WRX seems excessively thirsty as well, Ive been taking it real easy all week and rarely boosting at all and you can pretty much watch the fuel guage drop as you drive along!?. Its had some ECUTEK tune by the previous owner and I rang the mob that did the tune to ask if it was an aggressive type tune and they said" no not really but most folk who get a tune don't worry about fuel consumption".

I want to get the map changed to make it more economical as it wont be racing anyways, what do you think I'd be charged to get it tuned to be more fuel friendly?....

The tune will iron out the fuel consumption unless you have leaky injector or dud afm( no afm workshop jokes )

I Don't know if theres a way I can get those Timing covers off now, I suspect Ill have to buy new ones and break the current ones to get them off!?.

I looked over the receipt of the Tune by the previous owner and the Tuners wrote that the AFM was dirty and needed cleaning, maybe its buggered?. If Subaru is like Nissan a faulty AFM will not show up as an error code, the cheapest AFM's I can see are on Ebay at $169.00( Genuine)
