The car is for sale for $11,000 I managed to get him to knock it to $10,000 But I then see the tyres are buggered, rego due and towards the end of our conversation tells me that he doesn't know if the Timing belt has been changed yet?.
I only have $10,000 ( everything I have) and don't have the extra to get that belt/pulleys etc changed, plus all tyres... He will not knock off anymore of the price and im not game to risk driving it with the belt having gone over the limit of replacement... Last edited by django; 06-04-2013 at 09:16 PM. |

2.5 comes in 2005 onwards unless its a jap spec import. If its had a replacement motor or anything Like that then your in luck. If you have 10k by Something that cost less. You gotta pay to play.

If he got it at a reputable yard they would have done the 100k service on the car. I don't think that a major service should stop you from buy a 2001 wrx with on 123k on the clock. $10k is cheap for a 01 WRX. With a 100k service, rego and stamp I would budget $12500 all up.
I would be worried about other things. First I would do a history check (carhistory.com.au) it will cost your $38 i believe and then I would ask if the owner had any objections to get the car inspected by your mechanic (stechnic, Evo R, MMS etc.). Subaru motors usually go in summer because the correct oil isnt being used in the cars and all of the above listed reasons. Can you post the ad please, I wanna have a look? I did mine at 40,000km when my car was 5yr old, just for peace of mind.
Because of delayed shipping, I used genuine kit, so Im selling full Gate racing t-belt kit with Grimspeed pully, all for $350, if ur interested: http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/sale/533...eza-parts.html BTW, Evo R charges around $400 for the labor.
