I'm pricing up the Timing belt kit and hope to get one soon( sooner the better) ,My WRX seems to be quite thirsty??, I drove it to work and back really quite slowly indeed and the Fuel Gauge was on 3 quarters in the morning then after I got home the gauge had gone down to just above half a tank ( it was about 70km of driving).

I need some help=

1)I cant for the life of me zero the Trip Meter??!
2) Im getting an annoying loud noise from the back of the car as you drive along and gets louder the faster you go, its hard to tell if its diff noise( please no!), wheel bearings or just shitty tyres being loud?.
3)anyone know the cheapest place to get a decent quality Timing Kit?.
4) I am new to WRX and need to change the oil, I rang MAXIMUM MOTORSPORT and they said to use a full synthetic 0-40!?? is that not way too thin a viscosity??,in my 180SX I was using 10- 50 and I need the part number for an oil filter.

Any Help Much appreciated................Scott

congrats mate, i recon thats a bargain, you would have been taking the piss trying to get it cheaper

1) hold the trip reset button in
2) suspect bearings
3) rising sun subaru, search, about 500 for full kit (belt/tensioner/idlers/water pump/crank seal)
4) get genuine, ryco etc are shit for wrx's & same price as genuine

edit:

just checked, maybe just grab these 2 kits off kris, he's on here somewhere & doesn't mind shipping interstate, its worth doing the upper engine cleaner before you drop the old oil

service kit

inc

-upper cyl cleaner

-oil filter and crush washer

-5L Subaru oil

-fuel additive

-washer bottle additive

$88 each kit
-----------------------------------

Timing belt service kit

-TB Kit

-water-pump

-water pump gasket

-thermostat with seal

$555 each kit
