You either fork over for fully comprehensive, or get a car that's cheaper to insure. Personally, I'd get the cheaper car... my dicks big enough that I couldn't justify burning money every year just to look cool

When I was at school this guy (in year 12) had an M3. The insurance was $8k per year. His sister (only a couple of years older) had a purple 911 C4S and a e class merc. Good luck to them.

It's just calculated risk, weighed in the insurance companys favour.

An 18 year old male, living in Midland with a bunch of speeding fines and a reckless charge, who parks his car next to a cardboard box on his front lawn is far more likely to bust his car or have it stolen than a mid 20's male with a clean driving record a lock up garage and a ninja-spec alarm system.

It's just part of being in the group that is most likely to end up costing an insurance company money.
