My 31 cost me 900 from victoria, from Qld its about 1200 bucks.
Brooke, in regards to point 2 You buy car there, bring it here. It nees to go over the pits, once its passed, you pay rego, transfer fees, and the car is regoed here in your name. And yes it has to go over the pits.

If its QLD, when he sells it you he will most likely derego the car, so he can get a refund on what hes paid on it for 6 /12 months.
So when it gets here youll need a permit to drive it home etc. Youll need to organise a receipt for purchase of car, then get him to drop off for transport or get someone you trust to go pick it up for you etc. How you do that its your call. No receipt = once in WA they will not rego the vehicle. When I bought out of Victoria, I knew the guy and he drove it to the trainyards for me. If i didnt know him I woulda gotten a mate to do that. Then its your responsibilty to sort getting it regoed here in WA

yep thats pretty spot on. i payed $1100 from brissy to perth. thats with TNT via truck/train in an enclosed container.
make sure u go over the car before and after at each depot to mark down any dents/scratches. u might also want to ring your insurance company and get a cover note to get it from the location of purchase in QLD to the transport dept. Last edited by Subaru00; 10-06-2006 at 06:29 PM. |

The price from Brisbane to Perth is $1250 through TNT. Thats the price they gave me last week to transport my car from Bris to here in the coming weeks. Dan |

ok so.... i buy the car with no rego, pay him the money and get a reciept from him.
i get it transported back to perth and then get a permit to drive it around. Take the unregistered car with its old queensland papers etc with me to the pits and pay my fees etc here to get it registered as a WA car... Is this right? So what i pay for the car in queensland, will be the amount i declare here when i do my transfere? or do the licensing office go on the 'market value' of the car here? Confused |

I am unsure of that too? anyone care to share their experiences for the amount disclosed on the purchase price, to the market value the car holds?
I mean it's all relative to the cars condition i.e. km's, body condition and so forth, surely they can't calculate the Stamp Duty on the market value?? Can they? Some one shed some light on this fast! For Xology's and mine's sake!!! Cheers felllas! |
