Default heat shielding

just needing to know whether or not the stock heat shielding is likley to fit back on top of the turbo as i took it off to install tbe.

also does this item actually do anything? or is it more to remind the aprentice mechanics not to touch..

yes it makes a diffrence by diverting heat away from intercooler.
depending on what brand of TBE you have on there it will either fit right back on or one of the bolt holes on the shield needs to be cut off.

Don't leave it off if your running standard top-mount, you'll get heat soak like a bitch

If your dump pipe has a splitter, you may have to use an angle grinder to cut a small piece off to make it fit.

rit e o sounds like i might have to modify it some what, has a sort of large oval mouth piece at the turbo end is this a "splitter" or not.. any tips on putting it back in is it worth takeing the tmic off to install it of something else, quite a tight fit.., a bit of swearing helped get it out but not back in

i recommend doing it on a truley cold motor, i did mine a couple of hrs after i drove to my olds work shop and nuts still quite tight. Had to heat up the nuts to get them off in the end. also u need a few extensions on a ratchet and u uni joint, size 14 socket, and a 14mm spanner, plus breaker bar
