Evo X? Hold their value well, tho I have not driven one.

I would not buy a $93K Commodore to keep for 3 years.

Not a fan of the Merc either.

I like the new STi, I saw one with black skirting the other day and quietly kicked myself that I didn't wait to test drive one before buying my RS 40.

BRZ/GT86's r great if u don't need a lot of space and ur ego can handle not having a 13 second car.
For roughly the same price, I would go the sti over the evo because handling is on par with the evo now and I think its actually quicker to 100 also so I would not get the evo based on that...BRZ looks great but like you said, its a bit too slow for my liking.

I think i need to go back and give the sti another chance as I went and saw the HSV again this morning and while I waited for the dealer to do an appraisal on my car, I had a good opportunity to really have a good look at the car inside out and have come to a conclusion that it does look just like a standard commodore (the E3 series actually looked a lot more aggressive IMHO than the standard commodore, for some reason the new Gen F looks kind of boring and no matter how great the engine is, I think they still needed to make the GTS stand out more than the standard commodore)

btw your RS 40 is a great car mate..you shouldn't have any regrets

Not sure if anyone has mentioned but the new FA engines are twin scroll set up. A lot broader power bamd. Direct injection is the way forward. Big torque curve with amazing fuel comsuption.

P.S I would drive the CLA, STI, HSV before deciding. For me, until they put the FA in the STI, the CLA45 all the way if you can afford it. Crazy power, no lag and better fuel economy (unless you drive like a maniac) than a Camry. But I think the new STI will handle like its on rails and cannot be ignored.

Edit : CLA is also direct injection ;)

Just a quick question though..if the new FA engine is so good, then how come the new wrx is 0.7secs slower than the previous 2.5 litre engine?

Had another look at the sti last night but I just can't get pass how ugly the interior looks compared to the A45 amg and HSV. Really like the A45 amg but the waiting times is apparently nearly 10 months now. The HSV just looks like a ordinary commodore so I don't want to fork out $100k for something I don't really love inside out!!

So since the wait for the car I really want is 10 months, I have decided to hold out for now (no point putting down a $5k deposit and committing to a car that I won't get for nearly a year as there may be other cars that will come out sooner and also be better for example, VW looks as though they will go ahead with the new Golf r400 which has 294kw/450nm and will do 0 to 100 in 3.9 secs!!!!)

Because the 6spd requires an extra shift. If straight-line speed and time is your goal, then ge the HSV.

I thought CLA45 has long waiting list, not A45. Give Bentley dealer a call maybe?
