Smile engine problems need help

hi my name is quang i have a 1997 wrx gc8 and im having a engine problem that has recently happened
.... when im driving my wrx at a steady speed the car jerks and the throttle fails on me and it drop to a high idle and doesnt rev up unless i turn off the car and start it up again....i know something is starting to give way but i need some suggestions on what it could be....
the check engine light does not pop up and doesnt give my any codes...i need help urgently...please help me...

also i recently replaced my afm a few months ago and gave my idle air control valve a good clean today... and still doesnt solve the problem im having now..

these are getting quite old days.
Interesting its not throwing a check light on.

could be a quite a few things to look for. crappy fuel, fuel pump,02 sensor, electrical fault, coil pack,vacuum leak. The list goes on

Take it to one of the subaru work shops and get it looked at before it becomes a bigger issue.

hi,
i would check the earths if u said u had an engine swap.
It sounds electrical to me.I would also check all connectors to sensors etc.

Not sure where he said he had an engine swap

Mr gc8, suggest you take this to a workshop
Internet diagnostics only go so far
Mods done, age of car, parts, etc all play a part in trying to troubleshoot an issue

AFM or throttle sensor could well be the main culprit
AFM more so if you are running a heavily oiled filter
Easy check is to get an AFM that you know is good and swap

One thing you could try is start the car and while it's running wriggle every plug you can find under the bonnet and dash and see if there is a stutter or stall, could just be a loose connection.
