Hey people ,
in the process of freshening up my motor I have found something interesting about my heads . When I purchased them I didn't have the knowledge I have now on different models etc . I was told these were 96 wrx heads they were faced and cleaned when I bought them so the motor was assembled with a freshened bottom end in my closed deck RS block.

Upon removing my valve covers to reseal them I found this


To my minor knowledge the only heads that come with those end cap markings and lines on the cams are STI RA heads . So would this mean I scored STI RA V2/V3 heads instead of said WRX 97 heads ?

i was kinda expecting the surprise heads you get in the morning.

Saw Dave at Stechnic , helped us out with some different mount plates for engine mounts cheers Dave. He also said looking at the pic ,plus I've taken a cam out and checked and I have the buckets with the little shim underneath non hydraulic wooo hoo v1/v2 sti heads . Well at least I can stop hunting for heads now.

You can tell by the actual shape of the spark holes. That's ver 1-2 for sure.
